Along the route, there are the National Museum of Natural Science, Civic Plaza, Eslite Parkway, Art Space, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Food Court and other activity nodes. The activity intensity, atmosphere and spatial scale are sometimes compact and sometimes quiet, with some strong and some weak, some dense and some sparse, just like the natural and smooth aura of "cursive script" in calligraphy.

The ancients explained the so-called running cursive as: "White is used as black, the first character leads the article; it swings left and right, with sparse and dense strokes; dense is airtight, wide is enough for horses to run." The spatial composition constructed by running cursive is the starting point of the design idea. According to the rhythm and rhyme of running cursive, it is hoped that the green, garden and path will be created into a space with urban characteristics. Because of the concept of "Enlightenment of the Way through Running Cursive" in design, it is also known as "Enlightenment of the Way through Grass", and the English name is named "Calipography Greenway".

  • Miyahara Ophthalmology

    Address:
No. 20, Zhongshan Road, Central District, Taichung City, Taiwan .

Next to the Green River near Taichung Railway Station, there is a building made of red bricks and tiles. It is the former site of Miyahara Eye Clinic, which was bought by the "Sunrise" cake team, which became famous for its local pineapple cakes. The red brick walls and old archways outside Miyahara Eye Clinic have been completely preserved and turned into a nostalgic red brick wooden roof arcade. Walking into the store, the decoration imitates the retro high-ceiling library, creating a magical space of the old and new eras. The old well in the center of the store that can no longer be used has been rebuilt into a modern round glass donation box, which shows the ingenuity of the design.

Miyahara Eye Clinic was built in 1927 by Japanese ophthalmologist Dr. Miyahara Takekuma. It was also the largest ophthalmology clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period. After Japan's defeat in 1945, Takekuma Miyahara returned to Japan and Miyahara Eye Clinic became Taichung Health Hospital. However, with the passage of time, the old and dilapidated health hospital gradually became a dangerous building, and even became a weed-covered ruin in the 921 earthquake. It was not until the "Sunrise" management team spent a year and a half, combined with two architects and a doctor of monument restoration, that the modern Sunrise Miyahara Eye Clinic was created.

Preserving old buildings with a long history is not an easy task, but with the ingenuity and hard work of the "Sunrise" team, Taichung Miyahara Eye Clinic not only retains the atmosphere of an old house, but also allows people to feel the touch of history after the renovation. It is indeed a breathtaking building. The translucent glass on the ceiling naturally brings in light, and the sunlight pouring into the house is very beautiful; the interior decoration is also quite impressive, and the high-ceiling design is very much like the scene of Hogwarts School in Harry Potter, and the wooden bookshelves and cabinets create a unique texture beauty.

The cakes with retro packaging are the most popular souvenirs. With exquisite packaging and delicious snacks, they are suitable for both gift giving and personal use! When you come to Miyahara Eye Clinic, you must not miss the signature ice cream here. The various flavors are all exclusive special recipes. If you think that only the flavors are special, then you underestimate Miyahara. The ingredients next to the ice cream are even more amazing. Whole pineapple cakes, cheesecakes, almond snowballs, etc. The rich ice cream you have never seen before is in Miyahara! How can you come to Taichung and not come to Miyahara Eye Clinic to eat and shop? !

  • Taichung Park

    Address:
No. 65, Section 1, Shuangshi Road, North District, Taichung City .

Since its establishment on October 28, 1903 (Meiji 36), Taichung Park has been an important landmark in Taichung City. The park has beautiful landscapes such as artificial lakes, pavilions, and curved bridges. There are also many recreational facilities such as open-air music stages, children's play areas, and tennis courts. It is suitable for parents and children to go there for leisure and sports. Because it is located in Taichung City, transportation is convenient, making it a popular tourist attraction for family outings on holidays in Taichung City.

The over 100-year-old Taichung Park has long been a landmark of Taichung City. The park is densely forested and dotted with historical, cultural, and animal elements. It is often said that "previous generations planted trees, and later generations enjoyed the shade." In Taiwan's urban areas, it is rare to find a cluster of green trees like Taichung Park. It is unknown how long it took to cultivate such a poetic and picturesque scene, so that when future generations are tired, they can still find a natural resting place without spending a lot of money or having to drive to the mountains or streams.

For many Taichung people, Taichung Park is a good place for fun and rest from childhood to adulthood. Whether it is sports or boating on the pavilion in the middle of the lake, it is a warm place for family gatherings and a leisurely corner for couples to express their love. For tourists, Taichung Park is a landmark of Taichung and the first century-old park in Taiwan. It preserves ancient relics and has a convenient location. It is suitable for walking through the historical corridor and going to the bustling night market and station. It has all kinds of hotels, food and snacks. It is one of the best itinerary attractions for both dynamic and quiet activities. The European-style

    Pavilion
was built in 1908 (Meiji 41 during the Japanese colonial period) to celebrate the opening of the entire Tongguan Railway. The Japanese Prince Kan-in Zai-jin, who came to Taiwan to preside over the ceremony, once stayed overnight in the pavilion, which made the Pavilion famous. Since the Japanese colonial period, the Pavilion has always been a symbol of Taichung City. On April 17, 1999, the Pavilion was officially announced as a "city-designated historical site", which includes the pavilion and the nearby Zhongshan Bridge.

    Moon-Watching Pavilion
The Moon-Watching Pavilion was built in 1889 (the 15th year of Emperor Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty) and is the only remaining relic of the Taiwan Prefecture City. When the Qing government came to Taiwan to establish a province, Liu Mingchuan, who was in charge of the inspection tour in Taiwan, designated Taichung as the capital of Taiwan Province. As a result, eight city gates and four city towers were built. The Moon-Watching Pavilion is the remaining building of the northern gate among the eight city gates. With the changes of the times, These old city buildings were almost completely destroyed during the Japanese occupation, with only the Moon-Watching Tower remaining. The plaque with the words "Music to Welcome the Gods" in the pavilion was proposed by Taiwan County Magistrate Huang Chengyi. The plaque has a history of more than 100 years and is the oldest monument in Taichung Park . It is currently hung on site as a replica, and the original antique is temporarily stored in the Niufutou Ruins Cultural Park.

    The guardhouse
was originally the main gatehouse of Wu Luanqi Mansion. Wu Luanqi Mansion was demolished in 1980. In order to preserve the historical relics of the mansion, the Taichung City Government moved the guardhouse to Taichung Park. It is currently the only remaining Chinese-style guardhouse building in Taiwan.
